Sunday, 28 June 2015 2 Notes Natural hair journey update; hair troubles, new regime and everything in between + and my makeup inspiration

Am really sorry I have not put up a post about my hair in a whil, I must tell you guys I have been struggling a lot with my hair and I must say it hasnt being easy, so many times I feel tempted to relax it and get it over with, but here I am writing a post :).
First of all, I have a dandruff prone scalp and its very bad, with my hair being really full it has become increasingly hard for me to manage the dandruff situation. I have tried using lime and ginger, antiseptic mouth wash and alot of unconventional thing which didn't seem to be working beyond one week.
After much investigation, I decided to try out head and shoulders shampoo (I have never actually tried it! Its suprising I know! Lol!) I am also trying out vinoz shampoo and conditioner and I added Damatol to the mix for my scalp treatment. And to my surprise I have noticed a difference that is lasting.

Regime:

I happen to be a victim of dandruff infestation so co-washing is something I cannot attempt for now. That being said, my hair regime for now is pretty simple, I try to wash my hair weekly with the above products (head and shoulders shampoo and vinoz shampoo and conditioner). I air dry my hair as usual then moisturise with coconut oil, olive oil and African pride shea butter curling pudding. African pride shea butter is a new product I got a while back, I simply use it as a moisturiser. And that's basically all I. I do not twist out my hair anymore because I just cannot go through the stress of twisting my hair and I dont have the luxury of time for that, so I just section my hair into four parts, plait and tuck my end in.

Due to the excess braiding I have engaged in over the past 4 months, I suffered a huge amount of hair loss. So for this I have also adopted a deep conditioning treatment, which is a mixture of hair mayonnaise, conditioner (i use vinoz conditioner) and coconut oil which I apply to my hair after washing. I leave in the mixture for about 2 hours.
This is basically my regime for now, I plan to keep it this way for as long as possible. I am also trying to stay off braiding because it hasn't helped me much so far.
